Got to see Daniel Johnston performing live at Warsaw in Broolyn ( thanks, Terence!)
He shed some new light on Beatles classics like Help! and I'm So Tired.

I can't believe I saw M.Chat with my very own eyes, right here in Manhattan. He is on 7th Ave.& 27th street and looked bright and freshly painted. My camera was out of batteries, so I made Z take this with his phone so I would remember to come back tomorrow and get a better pic.

Your eyeballs

I work in marketing and I live in Manhattan. I walk from the Lower East Side to Times Square most days of the week. I am well aware that every surface, static or moving is competing for my attention and I am wise to just how much it costs for advertisers to market to me in this way. This video from Good Magazine however, is a really great depiction the cost of all this eyeball real estate in my fair city.

Showtime did a fun promotion yesterday, turning fountains in 14 cities around the US RED.
I took some pics during my lunch break . It was neat but with all that goes on in Times Square at any given hour it was hard to make a real 'splash' .

HOWEVER - I started looking around on Flickr and found some amazing shots of the fountains in other cities.
In Chicago they used red gels to illuminate the fountain at night - amazing.

Where the hell is the clueeeeeeee!!!

This is a clip from an 80's classic Midnight Madness about some crazy college kids who stay up all night and solve puzzles to win a contest. Guess what I am going to be doing this Saturday? Reenacting this movie!!! Well, not exactly but I will be part of a team that is competing in an all night puzzle solving contest of the same name. There is no prize besides being part of a winning team and just having a fun random night.

Tonight we had an intro strategy meeting where we got an overview of what we might expect and what the team leaders learned from previous years' contests. We also did some practice puzzles, they were pretty hard but not as scary as I thought.

I am super excited. Will try to document and post photo or video from the event!

We had our awards screening for The 2007 48 Hour Film Project a few weeks ago at The Pioneer Theater and the films were really quite impressive - I wanted to share a few of the MANY AWESOME FILMS, here. Remember these were written, filmed and edited within 48 Hours. Before, Friday at 7pm the filmmaker did not even know what genre film they were going to be making!

I'll post more of them later this week..

Watching the fireworks in the rain turned out really cool. We all crept onto the roof of a Greenpoint building and had a great view. Seeing all the people on the other rooftops with their umbrellas made it extra special, it was like seeing Mary Poppins minus the annoying child actors. See the pretty pictures?! I'll post a video soon, too.
