Hill Holliday created these music videos for They Might Be Giants mini-songs and Dunkin' Donuts paid for it. I have to admit I am 'ad averse' (finally I am part of a demo! The demo that doesn't want to be part of a demo, demo. this links to the new marketing report about cracking this demo)
It means that I intentionally avoid commercials. Despite this, when I recognized the familiar voices of John and John coming from some TV (probably the one in the Dunkin' Donuts where I can get free wifi ) I paid attention. Marketing to me is apparently not as difficult as I thought. So, here are 8 of the dozen or so commercials made for this campaign. I think they are pretty great.
I was also surprised to find that that Hill Holiday has essentially converted their their entire website into a blog with the banner area functions as a mini site. Nice.
Also, I love the fact this song will always be popular because every year leagues of high school freshman will be online looking for Cliffs Notes for Bronte's novel, find this and become enchanted ( in one way or another), maybe even read the actual book.
Totally different thing but I was also obsessed with this one by Kate Bush for quite some time. It's fun.
Swedish group Sweptaways does a'cappella Wuthering Heights in the style of American Apparel, but better.
The Ukelele Orchestra of Great Britain rocks!
In preperation for Valentines Day here is their most excellent cover of Kate Bush's Wuthering Heights.
And as if that wasn't enough, here they are performing Smells Like Teen Spirit.
How can you not fall in love with these Uke-eys...Ukers...whatever.
Sexy, because glitter covered cleavage is generally considered so, and funny because this image was selected randomly when I uploaded the video. Vox is naughty!
Sexy, Funny, is also the working title for the documentary series which, I will finally get down to editing this weekend.
I cut this tease from interviews and performances of two tip-top burlesque performers, Miss Clams Casino and Little Brooklyn. The shoots were produced by myself and Ilise Carter. We'll have about a 3O min film once the individual episodes are all put together!
