I have been doing a little online shopping with the notion of supporting the economy by supporting individuals and their creative commerce endeavors. I am not too big on holiday required gift giving but I decided to squirrel a little dough away this year to buy a few gifts from friends/family and other artists.
If you are still looking for ideas (my interest
falls mostly in the category or art or wearable art) here's a few places to check out:

We are all a little weird and life's a little weird,
For a little digital holiday cheer - I have gathered together links to a selection of seasonal greetings from hip creative agencies. I couldn't help but add my own random commentary after viewing each one, I also solicited the opinion of a celebrity guest..
Noah Scalin - Designer-Activist-Space Pirate, the brains and brawn behind ALR Design who also happens to be my brother.
His comments are red and mine purple. Enjoy the links and please feel free to add more links or comments to this post!
Here Goes,
'Twas the night before the day before christmas...
Big Spaceship:

Zzzzzzz, oh sorry I fell asleep
for a minute. An overly long nonsensical video filled with in jokes?
Now that’s the Christmas spirit y’all! I’m glad I waited for that to
download. At least it recyclable thanks to the “make your own” function.
Have an esoteric non-specific holiday. Looked like it was about to get real sexy but it ended before anything happened! boo! I almost felt like I was having fun while I was making my own web2.0 mashup, but I think that I was just blinded by the hipster veneer. In the end it was too much work to make something funny enough to send to friend.
Leo Burnett:
http://www.millionsofus.com/media/leoburnett/
Aw yeah, 1989 is back in full effect! Leo
Burnett shows that it’s totally hip to the latest in crappy digital
graphics and old rap. I’m sure people will be banging down their
virtual office door in Second Life in no time.
This shows me that LB is old skool media in a cool urban hip-to-tha-hop way! Clearly these avatars can really get down with the peops in SL but all pictures from parties in SL look somewhat desolate and leave me with this depressed feeling, this one is no exception.
Duval Guillaume

Sweet, now I never have to hire Duval
Guillaume again! Seriously this is what most clients want anyway, they
could charge for it after Christmas is over.
This was also depressing but I like that you can use actual corporate logos. What would be really cool is if you could download a print ready file when you were finished.

You know what’s really awesome? Stuff we didn’t make!
What can I say really, this is just terrible in all kinds of ways but I am going to pretend it says 'we're going out of business because of these people'.
http://iqinteractive.com/ding/
Wow that Loading for 22 numbers was cool…oh wait there’s more. Hmm those dinging heads are annoying, luckily I can turn the sound off and then it’s just a game of whose head will pop up next! The best part is that it’s not interactive or smart, thanks IQ Interactive!
Wow that must have taken a long time to make and it still looks like an elementary school kids project. I tried real hard pay attention to the singing but became slightly less un-entertained with making the deer head go rabid. That really would have been enough for me. Next year: save time - just the deer.
Lowe

Oh I get it, it’s irony, because THIS is the worst gift ever. And the best gift ever? The skip button
Points for trying really really hard. At least they offer up something altruistic here. A really cool gift would to build that ngo a very awesome new website..I am serious I think that would be so cool of them.

Apparently JWT wants to confuse me into having a happy holiday or I went to Japanese TV commercial site by accident.
Very melancholy. Slow flash animation? What is this? I guess we can all agree, it's been a very strange year - is that the sentiment here?
Publicis Dialog SF
http://www.gingerbreadintern.com/
What’s better than one crappy video that you have to wait too long to download? How about six! And the hip Mr. Bill reference and YouTube quality? Y’all are so cutting edge it hurts.
First of all, let me say, I am very glad to know that every office has someone who can perform passable imitations of South Park character voices. Now would someone please hire them not to make anything like this next year!!!
Animax

Happy Holidays from Animax, we love to ruin your happy childhood memories!
Evil Peanuts.
CL&S

I made prodigious use of the fast forward button, but sadly there was no erase button.
This card has all the makings of a smooth lover...slow and long with a sexy French(?) accent
Sullivan, Higdon & Sink
http://weloveholidaysweaters.wehatesheep.com/
Remember when you got a shitty sweater for
Christmas that one year and you had to wear it all day? Remember when
you had to put together that bike for your kid sister on Christmas
morning instead of getting play with your new toys? Well we’ve combined
those two crappy experiences into our holiday card!
By the time I looked at this that i didn't feel up to the task of designing my own crappy sweater and I kinda got lost in the gallery of bad sweaters, mesmerized by the way they slide right and left and the music got better after 10 min., the dance of the sugar plum fairies is much better than x-mas carols.
Ignited Minds

Finally a holiday themed Spinal Tap rip-off that goes on way too long… my Christmas wishes have come true!
The dead giveaway that this is a 'fake' band ? Any death metal band worth a drop of satan's blood has a MySpace page!

Um, there were a lot of words and things to click. I think I died at
some point while waiting for more Nog related “humor” to load.
A new Starbucks promotion? Wait what is this?
Why am I here? What do you want from me? Help! This experience almost made me cry it was so frustrating. But hey that's what the holidays are about, right?
Boy, nothing says how much you
appreciate your clients at this time of year than hand crafted holiday
cards made from high quality pixels sent via first class e-mail. - Noah
...And to all a good night!
Would you hire any of these companies based on their holiday offerings?
I know have seen a few others this season but can't find the links anymore, so please add to this collection.
