I have been doing a little online shopping with the notion of supporting the economy by supporting individuals and their creative commerce endeavors. I am not too big on holiday required gift giving but I decided to squirrel a little dough away this year to buy a few gifts from friends/family and other artists.
If you are still looking for ideas (my interest
falls mostly in the category or art or wearable art) here's a few places to check out:

This video is exactly what it looks like in your (er... my) head when you are 6 and smashing up Matchbox cars with Tonka trucks in your backyard.
I saw Jose Gonzales perform last week in Brooklyn. He is one of those rare performers that can completely transfix a huge room when he is all alone on stage with only a guitar. Here's his cover of The Knife's Heartbeats - it might sound familiar because it was used in that Sony Bravia bouncing balls ad.
The original version of the song by The Knife is really too awesome to ignore plus this video of people skateboarding and animated birds - might actually be cooler than the Sony Bravia rubber ball ad.
Both make me cry rivers - both versions of the song, i mean, not both videos - rubber balls and animated birds alone don't activate my tear ducts, I don't think.
I can't believe I saw M.Chat with my very own eyes, right here in Manhattan. He is on 7th Ave.& 27th street and looked bright and freshly painted. My camera was out of batteries, so I made Z take this with his phone so I would remember to come back tomorrow and get a better pic.
Use your mouse to feed the fish. It's fun.
My brother came to town this weekend and did this to the book shelf!
It's part of his new art blog Skull-A-Day, i which he intends to make 1 skull image a day for 365 days!
