I have been sporting these new fly kicks all week with a big grin on my face. I really wasn't sure if I could rock the sequined sneakers but it turns out that i can, or i do. I have always been a Chuck Taylor fan because they are really one of the great iconic American designs. They are ubiquitous and yet they stand out. They are so flexible in their look that they can become a logical part of any wardrobe. ANYONE can wear a pair of Chucks in any circumstance and it looks right. I it says quirky, fun, cool, but also sensible, down-to-earth and authentic. Who doesn't want to be that person? Add sequins and stir.
Season 2 of This American Life TV show starts on Sunday but because of my job I have already seen the season premiere and it is really quite amazing, something that could not have been done on the radio show. Good work, TAL - looking forward to another amazing TV season!
From NYTimes article 'Behind TV Analysts, Pentagon’s Hidden Hand':
These records reveal a symbiotic relationship where the usual dividing lines between government and journalism have been obliterated.
Internal Pentagon documents repeatedly refer to the military analysts as “message force multipliers” or “surrogates” who could be counted on to deliver administration “themes and messages” to millions of Americans “in the form of their own opinions.”
I was not familiar with this guy because I don't watch Accuweather but he is great. He reminds me of this phone number we used to call daily to hear some public school system lunch menu read in a similarly quirky manner.
What was that number again? Anyone else remember this? It was a pre-internet viral thing.
